Curriculum Vitae of David Leventhal 

 

Education 

 

Mr. Leventhal graduated Cum Laude from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and dual majors in Finance and Marketing.  He earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1991 from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California, with an elective emphasis in real estate and commercial law.  At Pepperdine, he served and was published on Law Review, and earned the American Jurisprudence Award for his work in Real Estate Financing Transactions.   

 

Employment 

 

Prior to forming his Firm, Mr. Leventhal served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable William J. Lasarow, Chief United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California, Los Angeles Division.  Mr. Leventhal's expertise in real estate is rooted in his pre-law school employment as a Loan Auditor and Operations Analyst for Great Western Financial Corporation.   

 

In 1992, Mr. Leventhal commenced private law practice as Leventhal Law Firm.  Mr. Leventhal’s practice is devoted exclusively to real estate transactions and litigation.  Mr. Leventhal has represented institutional lenders, private trusts, developers, construction professionals, and property owners in a wide variety of real estate issues, including: secured transactions, loan documentation, loan workouts, receiverships, foreclosures, creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, shared equity arrangements, loan syndication and secondary market transactions, property management, landlord/tenant, CC&R issues, leasing, brokerage, fiduciary issues, real estate venture documentation, purchase contract negotiation and enforcement, escrow drafting and litigation, land use, subdivisions, entitlements, development and construction agreements, entitlements, water rights, quiet title, partition, easements, boundary line disputes, and eminent domain. 

 

Mr. Leventhal is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in California, and he routinely appears pro hac vice in Nevada courts.
